Heroes Needed As athletes, every day, we have faced the unknown, we have grown close to our team members, many are like brothers and sisters to us, we relate to them. These experiences, the interconnecting with people, the pain, joy, dispair and triumph we have all faced is what bonds us into a global community of athletes. It was not our gifts that made us, they were Gods gifts and along the way, with the help of many caring dedicated people, we realized our dreams from these gifts. As athletes globally, we were bestowed with the greatest gifts that God could give us. The gift of health and opportunity and to not just survive, but play the game we loved. The gift of friendship, comraderie, and spirit that many of us look back on and remember every day. The gift that others will follow behind us and get a chance to share the dreams and experiences we have had. The gift of being free to pursue our hopes and dreams in life. The gift of having to face challenges and to rise above them. Many children of the world will never get to rise to their heights of Athletic ability and be a part of our global Community. Many groups are fighting to just keep children alive, meeting their basic needs and the hope of living another day. As athletes, we have the skills, they were Gods gift to us, the challenge is how we use these gifts to help youth and their families everywhere live the dreams we have all experienced.
